Hyderabad | 20 November, 2020

Hyderabad, November 20, 2020 : The recent rains in Telangana caused significant loss to the state. In particular, the city of Hyderabad suffered a major loss. Many colonies were inundated by water and people had to go through untold suffering and it is far from over. With many city areas completely waterlogged, many households have lost all their belonging, houses damaged beyond repair and are in need to any kind of assistance they can get.

In an effort to help those who are in such a dire state of helplessness, GMR Varalakshmi Foundation (GMRVF) identified a few majorly affected localities in the city and distributed 300 flood relief kits that included dry ration along with utensils set and couple of Solapur bedsheets. The distribution was carried among the rain affected areas of Hanuman Nagar, Bandlaguda, Nagole, Ambica Nagar, Chandrayangutta and Chaderghat.

It may be recalled that GMRVF distributed food packets earlier in October among the rain affected. Around 1000 cooked food packets were distributed in Ali Nagar and Chaderghat areas. Also, that during the lock down as well, GMRVF supported migrant workers and had done a similar exercise distributing cooked food and dry ration kits.
