Chennai, 22nd January, 2010 : GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) today signed three Memoranda of Understanding. One, through MAS GMR Aerospace Engineering Co.Pvt.Ltd., with Jet Airways for heavy maintenance services of their entire fleet of over 100 aircraft for a period of ten years; another one with Malaysia Airports Consultancy Services (“MACS”) for Commercial development of the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, and the third one with Asia Pacific Flight Training Sdn. Bhd to set up an ab-initio flight training. These MoUs were signed today in the presence of the Hon.Malaysian Prime Minister, Dato Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak.
MAS GMR Aerospace Engineering Company Pvt. Ltd. (MAG), a 50:50 joint venture formed between Malaysian Aerospace Engineering and GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL), entered into an MoU with Jet Airways for providing exclusive heavy maintenance services to their fleet of more than 100 aircraft, over the next ten years in Hyderabad at the upcoming MRO facility.
The facility will enable Jet Airways effect cost savings, and considerably reduce downtime for each aircraft.
GHIAL also entered into an MoU with Malaysia Airports Consultancy Services ("MACS") for the Commercial development of the Hyderabad International Airport. Upon the identification of a commercial project, both parties will negotiate and enter into an independent agreement which will define the scope of technical services, payment of fee, obligations and responsibilities of each party in the respective commercial project.
GHIAL signed an MoU with Asia Pacific Flight Training Sdn. Bhd, for setting up of ab-initio flight training center in partnership with Jeppesen India, a Boeing subsidiary. The estimated project cost of the same will be approximately USD 2.5. million.
The MoU signing function was attended by various dignitaries including Tan Sri Munir Majid, Chairman, Malaysia Airlines, Tengku Dato’ Azmil Zahruddin, Managing Director and CEO of Malaysia Airlines, Md. En’ Roslan, Managing Director – Malaysia Airlines Engineering, Mr. Saroj K. Datta, Executive Director, Jet Airways, and Mr. N. Sitham, Vice President – Tech. Projects. Tan Sri Bashir, Managing Director – MAHB from Malaysia Airport Holdings Berhad. Dato Faruk Othman, Chairman from Asia Pacific Flight Training, Mr. Max Ali, Director from Jeppesen India Aviation apart from Mr. G.M. Rao, Chairman, GMR Group, Mr. Kiran Kumar Grandhi, MD – GHIAL, Mr. P. Sripathy, CEO – GHIAL and Mr. D. Ravindran, COO – GHIAL, were also present on the occasion.

GMR Aviation Academy appointed as Airport Council International’s Global Training Hub for the Asia Pacific Region
Hyderabad, 28th November, 2009
GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) and Airports Council International, (ACI World) Geneva, have signed an agreement for the appointment of the GMR Aviation Academy as a Global Training Hub for the Asia Pacific region.
The agreement was signed in Hyderabad today, by Mr. Kiran Kumar Grandhi, Business Chairman, Airports, GMR Group and Ms. Angela Gittens, Director General, ACI World. |
