Hyderabad, January 29, 2021 : Aimed at passenger safety in the present COVID-19 times, GMR Hyderabad International Airport has introduced one more initiative towards safe travel, a Water-Less Eco Washing facility to sanitize cars.

This car washing service at the airport includes - exterior cleaning, vacuum cleaning, tyre clean and polish, air freshener, dashboard dressing, deep clean services. This helps in the complete sanitization of the vehicles and ensures a safe travel. Special 3M products which is used widely in the automobile industry and pose no kind of issues to the paint durability of the vehicle are used in the cleaning/washing. The cleaners are trained to clean the vehicle in a unidirectional way so that way it'll even reduce the chances of leaving swirl marks on the vehicle.

One of the Water-Less Eco Washing kiosks is located at the entrance of the Car Parking zone - C and one kiosk dedicated to taxis near the Airport lodge at the taxi staging area. Irrespective of the location, service will be provided at the location where the vehicle is parked within the airport car park. The service is 24/7, 100% contactless, tech enabled service for the ease of the customers. Both cash and digital payments can be made.

Since the recommencement of operations on May 25, as an airport operator committed to safe flying of passengers, GHIAL has been constantly engaging with all stakeholders to strengthen safety and sanitation measures for passengers at the airport. All authorised airport taxi services viz. Meru, Skycab, Ola, Uber, One Car, Srinivasa Tours & Travels among others have been sensitized about the COVID-19 norms and provided adequate information and instructions to be followed while ferrying passengers.

The safety measures at the airport begin from the parking zone of the airport, where besides social distancing markings, digital payment options and other contact-less measures, the airport has also come up with a robust mechanism to provide a sanitized taxi experience for every passenger using the airport-authorized taxi service from GMR led Hyderabad International Airport.

Every driver of the authorized taxi entering the airport is thermally screened and only those drivers with a normal body temperature are allowed to perform duties at the airport. Once the driver is cleared to drive, the taxi sanitization is done so that they could have a sense of confidence before they enter a particular authorized taxi at the airport.
