  • GHIAL wins CII Southern Region 5S Excellence Awards 2015


    External auditors nominated by CII visited GHIAL during the month of May 2016 and audited our Passenger Terminal Building, offices and other areas. The audit was quite intensive and also involved assessment of our Waste Management processes. A Q&A session with the CEO and GHIAL Steering Committee was also conducted to assess the level of senior management involvement in inculcating 5S culture. GHIAL has won the 2nd place in in CII Southern Region 5S Excellence Award 2015, in ‘Large Scale - Service’ category. The award was received by GHIAL on 24th of June, 2016 at a CII event in Chennai. We believe that this award underscores GHIAL’s commitment to operate a clean and clutter free airport and organization which also resonates with our nation’s ongoing ‘Swach Bharat’ initiative. In addition to delivering to us a prestigious industry recognition, the entire process of preparation for the 5S audit has also helped GHIAL team reaffirm its commitment to maintaining our position as the benchmark for housekeeping and maintenance among airports in the region and beyond.

  • Best Landscape Award for 6th time in a row


    RGIA won a first prize in Private Institutions category for the Best Landscape for the Sixth time in a row, in the recently concluded Garden Festival 2015 organized by the Department of Horticulture, Government of Telengana. RGIA also won a First prize for the Best Rotaries and the main access roads.

    At the valedictory function at Public Gardens held on February 13, 2016, the trophies were presented by Shri Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture, Horticulture. During the festival, the department encourages the garden growers of private/ government institutes, resorts, hotels colleges, industries, hospitals, and individuals etc. to showcase their landscape gardens. These gardens were judged by a panel of experts in the field and evaluated based on the quality standards of development and maintenance. The eminent judges visited the airport and evaluated our landscape maintenance.





  • RGIA clinches the coveted Skytrax Award for the 7th year in a row
    The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) managed and operated by GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL), a GMR led Consortium, has bagged the coveted Skytrax ‘Best Regional Airport in India and Central Asia Award’. RGIA has been winning Skytrax Awards for the last 7 years in various categories.

    Skytrax is the world’s largest airport customer satisfaction survey. It is considered one of the most prestigious awards that recognizes Product and Service Quality across airports worldwide. The Skytrax World Airport Awards are a global benchmark of airport excellence, and widely known as the Passengers Choice Awards.

  • RGIA retains it’s TOP 3 ASQ ranking for 7th time in a row


    GMR’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Hyderabad, has featured among the world’s Top 3 Airports for 7th year in a row in ACI ASQ ranking. In its announcement of winners for Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award, 2015, Airports Council International (ACI), declared Hyderabad Airport - operated and managed by GMR Hyderabad International Airport (GHIAL) - as 3rd Best Airport in the world, in 5-15 Million Passengers Per Annum (MPPA) Category. ASQ is the world’s most renowned and premier passenger service benchmarking programme for airports globally.

    The ACI Airport Service Quality (ASQ) programme is unique as the airport industry’s only global benchmarking programme measuring passenger satisfaction in real time while passengers are at the airport. ACI which carries out surveys at 300 airports around the world ranks the airports on the basis of airport service quality surveys which represent passenger feedback on 34 key service indicators. RGIA is known globally for its excellent passenger facilities and customer experience. The airport has well established systems and processes integrated with all stakeholders and this has enabled RGIA to achieve the common goal of ‘passenger delight’. Despite competition from much newer airports in the region, the airport continues to maintain its reputation for setting global benchmarks in airport service quality.

    Hyderabad Airport received the award at the ASQ Awards Ceremony which scheduled in April 2016 as a part of the 2016 ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Assembly in Gold Coast, Australia, in the presence of leaders from the global airports fraternity.

  • STAT Times Emerging Cargo Airport of the Year award


    RGIA has won the prestigious Award by STAT Times as Emerging Cargo Airport of the Year, Region – India. The award was given at the 6th biennial International Air Cargo Event, AIR CARGO INDIA 2016, organized by STAT Times from 23rd-25th, February, 2016 at Mumbai. This is the 2nd time we have won this Award, having won earlier in 2014 as well.

    Our JV Company, HMACPL, also won the Cargo Ground Handler of the Year.

  • GMR Group Chairman Honored with ‘Bulandh Bharath’ Award


    GMR Group Chairman, Mr G.M. Rao was honored with the prestigious ‘Bulandh Bharath’ Award for his exemplary contributions towards nation building.

    Mr. SGK Kishore, CEO, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) accepted the award on behalf of Mr. GM Rao from Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana and Mr. M. Venkaiah Naidu, Hon’ble Minister for Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs, Govt of India, during the 27th All India Builders’ Convention (AIBC) organized today by Builders’ Association of India (BAI), Hyderabad Centre at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad.

    Commenting on this award, Mr G.M. Rao, Group Chairman, GMR Group, said, “I feel blessed by the opportunity to serve my Country by building national assets. We are committed towards creating infrastructural assets for the rising India. Our dedication and honest efforts have seen some of the world-class assets like Delhi and Hyderabad Airports. We continue doing this. I am Grateful to BAI for bestowing me with this honour and I humbly accept the award on behalf of the entire GMR family.

    Bulandh Bharath Awards is an initiative by BAI to recognize and appreciate innovation and motivate others to be inspired to excel too. This award is an effort to identify and reward excellence in the field of construction and infrastructure in the country and acknowledge the outstanding contribution made in the field of construction.

  • RGIA wins ‘Best Airport in India’ Award during PANAROMA


    GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL) has won the “Best Airport in India” award for the year 2015 for excellence in service & operational delivery in the category of 5-15 million Passengers Per Annum. The award is constituted by the noted Aptech Aviation & Hospitality Academy, India. Mr. Manish Sinha, Chief Operating Officer (COO), GHIAL, received the award during a gala event called PANAROMA on 19th December, amidst the presence of many renowned aviation professionals and scores of students. Mr. Sinha also received the ‘Upcoming Aviation Professional Award’ from Aptech during the event.

    PANAROMA is an annual event, which aims to create numerous opportunities for students who aspire to become part of the aviation industry. During the event students from across India converge to learn from the aviation professionals and gain knowledge from the interactive workshops and seminars.

  • CII Energy Management Award 2015


    Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has conferred GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL) with the noted Energy Management Award 2015 adjudging Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Hyderabad as the ‘Excellent Energy Efficient Unit’ in the ‘Buildings’ category.

  • Golden Peacock Environment Management Award, 2015
    GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL) has been declared as the winner of ‘Golden Peacock Environment Management Award (GPEMA)’ for the year 2015 for having attained significant achievements in the field of Environment Management at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA). Shri Prakash Javadekar, Hon’ble Minister of Environment & Forests and Climate Change (I/C), Govt. of India presented this coveted award to Mr. Manish Sinha, Chief Operating Officer, GHIAL today, during the ‘17th World Congress on Environment Management' organized at Delhi in the presence of distinguished gathering of business leaders.

    The Awards Jury under the Chairmanship of Justice (Dr.) Arijit Pasayat, former Judge, Supreme Court of India, former Chairman, Competition Appellate Tribunal of India & Authority for Advance Ruling (Customs, Central Excise & Service Tax) selected GHIAL for this award. The Golden Peacock Awards were set up by the Institute of Directors (IOD), India, in 1991 to bring out the best in the corporates/organizations through competition. Golden Peacock Environment Management Award evaluates and recognizes the best Environment practices adopted by the organization in the industry.

    This year, Golden Peacock Awards received over 469 responses across the various categories of institutional awards, including the Golden Peacock Environment Management Award (GPEMA) from corporates including SMEs, public, private and government enterprises. A total of 245 applications were short-listed after careful scrutiny for final selection through a 3-tier assessment process. The applicant scoring the highest among each of the respective industrial sectors, were recommended to the jury for the final selection and approval. GHIAL emerged as applicant scoring the highest among all organizations of its sector – Transportation (Aviation).

  • 3rd Best Airport in the world in 5-15 MPPA Category
    Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airpot (RGIA), operated and managed by GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL), has been ranked 3rd Best Airport in the World in 5-15 Million Passengers Per Annum (MPPA) category in the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards announced by the Airports Council International (ACI), the global body of airports, for 2014. RGIA has retained its position among the top three airports in its category for the 6th consecutive year in the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey by ACI, with a score of 4.82 for year 2014.

    RGIA has consistently been rated amongst the top 3 airports in the world, since its inception. This accomplishment reflects RGIA’s unflinching endeavour to constantly strive to deliver service excellence and offer the best to the travellers from all across the globe. The annual ACI ASQ Awards recognize & reward the best airports in the world according to ACI's ASQ passenger satisfaction survey. The awards represent the highest possible accolade for airport operators and are an opportunity to celebrate the commitment of airports worldwide to continuously improve the passenger experience. The ASQ survey has become the world’s leading airport passenger satisfaction benchmarking survey with over 300 airports participating.

  • 15th National Award for Excellence in Energy Management 2014
    GMR Hyderabad International Airport has received the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) Award for “Excellent Energy Efficient Unit” during the 15th National Award for Excellence in Energy Management 2014.



    GHIAL has won this Award among stiff competition and it is a significant achievement and testimony of our excellent energy initiatives. Units of some of big Groups such as TATA, Reliance, Jindal, IOCL, Ultratech, Godrej, Kirloskar, ITC, ACC, Wipro, TCS, Dr. Reddy’s etc. also participated for the Awards. A total of 205 companies applied, out of which 97 top energy efficient companies were shortlisted. Out of these, 49 units were awarded as “Excellent Energy Efficient Unit” and the remaining were named as “Energy Efficient Unit”. The Award had seven different categories and GHIAL was placed in the “Buildings and Pharma” category.

    The evaluation process involved a thorough screening by eminent panel of judges, who critically evaluated each applicant with regards to trends of reduction in energy consumption, adoption of innovative energy saving initiatives, quantification of energy savings, specific methodologies adopted and efforts in harnessing renewable energy.

  • RGIA Receives Double Accolades for Cargo Operations
    Two prestigious awards embrace RGIA Cargo operations, a testimony to the growing stature of the airport in the Air Cargo scenario

    Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport Cargo has received the Middle East/Indian Subcontinent Airport of the year and Green award at the Payload Asia Awards, 2014.

    The Payload Asia Awards is an annual event that recognizes organizations that have made a difference in the Air Cargo supply chain. This year’s event was held recently in Singapore and attended by more than 300 global logistics industry leaders.

    Speaking on the occasion Mr. SGK Kishore-CEO, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) said, We are very pleased to receive this global recognition, especially coming from Payload Asia Awards that are conducted on a global scale. I would also like to thank the readers of Payload Asia magazine who voted us as the best under the respective categories. This award recognizes our all-round operations.     Hyderabad boasts of a modular integrated Cargo facility at RGIA, which is spread over 14,330 sq.mtswith a capacity to handle 150,000 MT annually. An exclusive apron, adjacent to the Cargo terminal caters to the Cargo facility and is capable of accommodating Code-F aircraft. A Pharma Zone was set up to handle the Pharma products at desired temperatures. The cargo complex also provides space for two animal quarantine stations, plant quarantine station and drug controller.

  • Roll of Excellence in Airport Service Quality
    Director General’s Roll of Excellence has been awarded to RGIA, Hyderabad, for being among the top 3 airports in the world (5 -15 million passengers category) for 5 consecutive years. The award is in recognition of the excellent quality of airport services provided to the passengers. RGIA has now become the only airport in India to have received this distinction.

  • Aviation Awards 2014
    RGIA won two awards as Best Airport and Excellence in Airport Operation & Management at Aviation Awards 2014 during the India Aviation Show at Hyderabad on 13th March 2014. Mr SGK Kishore, CEO-GHIAL and Mr Manish Sinha, Dy.COO-GHIAL received the honours.

  • SKYTRAX – World Airport Awards – 2014
    Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has rated as 2nd Best Airport in India and Central Asia at the 2014 World Airport Awards, held at Passenger Terminal Expo in Barcelona, Spain on 26th March, 2014. RGIA also rated as the 4th Best Regional Airport in Asia and also 7th Best Airport in the 5 – 10 mppa category. RGIA, operated by GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL), improved its ranks in these category compared to last year. In 2013 the airport rated 5th Best Regional Airport in Asia and 8th Best Airport in the 5 – 10 mppa category.

  • Best Emerging Cargo Airport of the Year
    RGIA has been awarded the ‘Best Emerging Cargo Airport of the Year’ award at the  5th biennial International Air Cargo Event, AIR CARGO INDIA 2014, organized by STAT Times on the 6th of February, 2014 at Mumbai. The event was attended by the cargo team and the award was received by Hemanth DP. The STAT Trade Times is a publication dedicated to provide coverage for the Aviation, Tourism, Shipping & Transport industries, globally. This is a biennial Conference and Exhibition which is attended by the cream of Air Cargo and Logistics Industry from around the world including Airlines, Merchant Shippers, Freight Forwarders, Airports and associations like IATA, TIACA, FIEO, APEDA etc.

  • ASSOCHAM CSR Excellence Award 2013-14
    RGIA received the prestigious ASSOCHAM CSR Excellence Award 2012-2013. The evaluation process focused on long-term sustainability and inclusive growth, and had criteria across three categories, namely policies that govern the operations of the business, their effective implementation, and the measures put in place to ensure constant monitoring and evaluation. It assessed how the company has integrated the National Voluntary Guidelines (NVGs) on Social, Environmental and Economic Responsibilities of Business, 2011 into its strategy and management of operations.

  • FICCI CSR Award – 2012-13
    RGIA has bagged the prestigious award, ‘FICCI CSR Award 2012-13’, for its CSR initiatives by FICCI Aditya Birla CSR Centre for Excellence. The award, under the winner category in private sector companies, was conferred based on the assessment by Grant Thornton (GT) and Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH).

  • National Tourism Award 2012-13
    RGIA has been awarded the prestigious National Tourism Award 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 under the Best Airport category. The award was given away to RGIA for the fourth consecutive year in recognition of its efforts in actively promoting tourism, not only in the state but also at the pan-India level.

  • World’s 2nd Best Airport 2013 in ASQ Rating by ACI
    The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has been adjudged as the Second Best Airport in the world in the 5-15 MMPA category in Airport Service Quality by Council International (ACI) in 2014.

  • Best Cargo Airport & Best Cargo Terminal of the Year
    RGIA has been honoured with the ‘Best Cargo Airport & Best Cargo Terminal of the Year’ for the year 2012 & 2013 by the Air Cargo Agents Association of India (ACAAI) for its excellence in cargo operations and best-in-class Infrastructure and Services.

  • CAPA Airport Marketing Award
    Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has bagged prestigious CAPA Airport Marketing Award (for  airports  handling up to 15Mn pax p/a) during the 10th Annual CAPA Aviation Awards for Excellence at an award ceremony in Amsterdam on 26th November 2013.

    Regarded as the pre‐eminent awards for strategic excellence in  aviation, the CAPA Aviation Awards for Excellence are bestowed upon airlines, airports, and other aviation organizations that have been the most  innovative and influential in their respective category. CAPA Airport Marketing Awards are conferred upon the Airports that have conducted the most outstanding marketing programs in the past 18 months, and which have been effective in attracting new airlines.

  • Sword of Honour by British Safety Council
    Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has been awarded the ‘Sword of Honour’ in recognition of its effective implementation of Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems from the British Safety Council (BSC) for health and safety works at the airport.

    The ‘Sword of Honour’, considered to be the Oscar of the Safety World, is a highly acclaimed universal recognition. The organisations, which have achieved 5-star certifications in the British Safety Council’s audit programme for the period between August 1, 2012 and July 31, 2013, are eligible to apply for the ‘Sword of Honour’. Once certified, the business establishments from across the world vie for this prestigious tag by presenting a strong testimony of their best practices in health and safety. An independent adjudication panel subsequently evaluates these performances.

  • Best Cargo Airport of the Year
    Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has been adjudged the “Best Cargo Airport of The Year” at the 40th Annual Convention of Air Cargo Agents Association of India (ACAAI), held at Jaipur.

    This is the second year in a row that RGIA has won the accolade for its Cargo operations and re-affirms RGIA’s commitment to the Industry and Trade community by providing them with best-in-class Infrastructure and Services.

  • Markenomy Awards 2013
    Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has been adjudicated the ‘Winner’ in the Category - ‘Best Airport (Private Sector)’ for its ‘excellent service quality & sustained operational performance and efficiency’, at the ‘MARKENOMY Awards 2013-India’s Awards for Sustainable Infrastructure’



  • ACI Level-3 Airport Carbon Accreditation
    RGIA  is the first airport in the country and second in the Asia Pacific Region to receive the Level-3 (Optimization) Airport Carbon Accreditation.   Airport Carbon Accreditation Programme is the industry standard for assessment of airports' efforts to deal with and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Launched in June 2009, Airport Carbon Accreditation Programme comprises of four levels: 'Mapping' (Level 1), 'Reduction' (Level 2), 'Optimization' (Level 3) and 'Neutrality' (Level 3+). This programme, has received widespread support from both the European Union and the UN Environment Programme. It has also received support from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and was extended to the Asia-Pacific region in November 2011. In June 2013, the programme officially expanded to the African region of ACI.

  • British Safety Council’s Five Star rating
    GHIAL has been awarded the 5-star rating for its Health and Safety Management System from the British Safety Council.   While the cut off for the 5-Star rating is 92%,  we scored 96%. RGIA is the first  airport in the world to get the 5-Star Rating. It is an incredible achievement,   particularly considering the fact that implementation of the system in an airport  with multiple stakeholders is a herculean task. The achievement clearly demonstrates RGIA’s commitment towards Health & Safety.

  • Best Management Award
    GHIAL has won the prestigious “Best Management Award” from the Government of Andhra Pradesh at the State May Day Function held on 1st May, 2013, at Hyderabad.

    This is one the most venerated recognitions given by the State Government to select establishments / industries in the state. GHIAL has been awarded under the Large Industry Category for maintaining a cordial relation with employees and also for its corporate social responsibility through various activities like vocational training and women empowerment.

  • SKYTRAX World Airport Awards 2013
    RGIA has been rated as the Number one airport in India, 5th Best Regional Airport in Asia and 8th Best Airport in 5-15 Million Passengers Per Annum (MPPA) capacity at SKYTRAX - World Airport Awards held at the Passenger Terminal EXPO in Geneva.

    The World Airport Awards are based on 12 million passenger surveys completed in a 10-month survey period, covering over 388 airports. The survey evaluates the total passenger experience across 39 airport service and product factors, covering arrival at an airport, transit and departure processes to the boarding gate etc. Travellers from over 160 countries take part in the world’s largest annual airport passenger satisfaction survey to decide the award winners. The World Airport Awards are the global benchmark of Airport Excellence and Quality Ranking.

  • National Tourism Award 2011-12
    GMR Hyderabad International Airport (GHIAL) has been awarded the prestigious National Tourism Award 2011-12 under the Best Airport category. The airport has been adjudged as the best airport in India for actively promoting tourism, not only in Andhra Pradesh but also at the pan India level.

    The award was presented by His Excellency, the Hon’ble President of India Mr. Pranab Kumar Mukherjee to Mr GM Rao, Group Chairman-GMR Group and Mr Vikram Jaisinghani, CEO-GHIAL, at an award ceremony in New Delhi on 18th March, 2013. Also present to grace the occasion was Mr K Chiranjeevi, Union Tourism Minister, Govt of India.

    His Excellency, the Hon’ble President of India Mr Pranab Kumar Mukharjee presenting the award to Mr G M Rao, Group Chairman – GMR Group and Mr Vikram R. Jaisinghani, CEO, GHIAL.

  • 2013 Air Transport News Award
    The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) own the 2013 Air Transport News Award for Airport of the year under 10 Million Passangers in the ATN Award function at Montreal, Canada on 17th March 2013.

  • ISO 50001:2011 - Energy Management System
    RGIA has successfully certified with ISO 50001:2011 - Energy Management System Certification for improving its overall energy performance, including energy efficiency, use and consumption on 6th March 2013.

    Developed in response to increasing global awareness of energy performance, this relatively new standard offers a systematic approach to reduce energy costs, greenhouse gas emissions, and other related environmental impacts.

    GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) received the “Quality Excellence Award for Best Customer Service Result” at the National Quality Excellence Awards, 2013.     The Awards are held under the banner of Stars of the Industry group and are powered by CMO Council and CMO Asia. The event is endorsed by the Asian Confederation of Businesses. Conceptualized more than 40 years ago, these awards are known to be a platform for recognizing performance par excellence.

  • World’s 2nd Best Airport 2013 in ASQ Rating by ACI
    The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has been adjudged as the Second Best Airport in the world in the 5-15 MMPA category in Airport Service Quality by Council International (ACI) in February 2013.

    The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has been adjudged as the best emerging airport in the Indian Subcontinent at Emerging Airports Award on 30th January 2013 at Dubai.

  • Rotary Vocational Award to GMRVF
    Rotary Club of Hyderabad-Deccan honoured GMR Varalakshmi Foundation with their annual vocational award in the social responsibility category, at a function at Hyderabad. The award was based on a visit to GMRVF’s Vocational Training facility at Hyderabad by a Selection Committee.

  • Best Landscape Award in Garden Festival 2013
    GHIAL Landscape team receiving the 1st prize in the Private Institutions Category and Best Traffic Island (Rotaries) from Dr M Jagan Mohan, IAS, Commissioner of Horticulture, Govt. of AP

    RGIA won the 1st prize in the Private Institutions category, for over all Landscape  for the third consecutive time and 1st prize for the Best Traffic Island (Rotaries) and 2nd prize for the Gated communities category (GMR Township), in the Garden Festival 2013 held on 30th Jan, 2013 at Hyderabad.

  • Airport Carbon Accreditation Certification
    ACI has accredited RGIA at Level 2 - 'Reduction' under the Airport Carbon Accreditation Programme. The Airport Carbon Accreditation Certification was presented to RGIA on 8th November during the 8th ACI Asia-Pacific Small Airports Seminar organised by ACI.

    Airport Carbon Accreditation is the European standard for carbon management and emission reductions at airports. This certification programme, specifically designed for airports, has received widespread support and endorsements from both the EU and the UN Environment Programme. Launched in June 2009, the programme has four levels of accreditation: Mapping, Reduction, Optimisation and Neutrality.

  • ISO 20000 (IT Service Management) 2012
    GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) has been awarded with the prestigious ISO 20000 Certification, which made Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA the first airport in the country to get this certification. A very few airports like Dubai, Munich, Abu Dhabi and Incheon in the globe are certified with this standard. This certification is a testimony of our customer friendly, high quality and best in class IT services being provided to all our stake holders.
  • Best Cargo Airport & Best Cargo Terminal of the Year - 2012
    Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has won the Best Cargo Airport and the Best Cargo Terminal of the Year awards from the Air Cargo Agents’ Association of India (ACAAI).

    A new upgraded cargo apron was recently opened and can now accommodate greater numbers of Code-F and heavier cargo aircraft and also reduce ground time spent on freighters.
  • PMI Awards 2012
    Project Management Institute, Hyderabad Honoured GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd in a two day function at Hyderabad. GHIAL was honoured for its outstanding contribution in the field of aviation. Mr PS Nair, CEO Airports Sector, GMR Group received the award on behalf of GHIAL and the Group.
  • SKYTRAX World Airport Awards 2012
    RGIA has been declared to be India's 3rd Best Airport, 2012 by airline customers at the SKYTRAX World Airport Awards held at Passenger Terminal EXPO in Vienna on 20th April 2012.

    The World Airport Awards are the most prestigious recognition of quality for airports across the world, based on the annual SKYTRAX airport passenger satisfaction survey, covering 388 airports from over 160 countries in 2012. The Awards are the global benchmark of airport excellence and Quality ranking, and Guaranteed for their total independence.
  • Best Performing Domestic Airport SATTE Award - 2012
    RGIA awarded as the “Best Performing Domestic Airport” in the aviation sector by the SATTE committee during its annual tourism trade show SATTE-2012, held in February, 2012.

    SATTE (South Asia Travel and Tourism Exchange) Award serves the inbound, domestic and outbound markets is being organized by UBM India in collaboration with CII and the UN World Trade Organization (UNWTO).
  • Best Landscape Award in Garden Festival 2012
    RGIA awarded the 1st prize in Private Institutions, two 2nd Prizes in the best rotaries (traffic islands) and best ornamental gardens in residential townships, respectively, in ‘Garden Festival 2012’ held on 30th Jan, 2012 at Hyderabad.
  • ISO 14064 Certification
    RGIA has successfully accredited its Greenhouse gas (GHG) Inventory; including Greenhouse gas emissions and removals, for reporting years 2009 to 2011, according to the ISO 14064-1: 2006 specification. M/s. Bureau Veritas conducted independent audit and issued its verification statement on 31st March 2012.

    RGIA become the second Airport in India and the Third in Asia to complete the Verification of Greenhouse Gas accounting of the Airport as per ISO 14064-1:2006.
  • National Energy Conservation Awards 2011
    GHIAL has been awarded a Certificate of Merit in the General Category Sector for the National Energy Conservation Awards – 2011 in recognition of the initiatives taken by GHIAL to conserve energy.

    The certificate was presented by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Power, Mr Sushil Kumar Shinde to Mr PS Nair, CEO Airport Sector, GMR Group at the National Energy Conservation Day Award Function on 14th December 2011 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
  • National Tourism Award 2010-11
    GMR Hyderabad International Airport (GHIAL) has been awarded the prestigious National Tourism Award 2010-11 under the Best Airport category. The airport has been adjudged as the best airport in India for actively promoting tourism, not only in Andhra Pradesh but also at the pan India level.

    The award was presented by Her Excellency, the Hon’ble President of India Mrs. Pratibha Singh Patil to Mr. Vikram R. Jaisinghani, CEO of GHIAL at an award ceremony in New Delhi on 29th February, 2012.

    The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has been adjudged as the third best Airport in the world in the 5-15 MMPA category in Airport Service Quality by Council International (ACI) in February 2012.
  • IMS Certifications
    RGIA) has become the first airport in the PPP (Public Private Partnership) sector, to achieve IMS certifications comprising Quality, Safety and Environment management systems at one go in February 2010:

    International Quality Management standard ISO 9001:2008
    Environment Management Standard ISO – 14001:2004 and
    Occupational Health and Safety Management standard BS OHSAS 18001:2007

    And now the RGIA is also compatible for 2D Bar Coded Boarding Passes (BCBP) as per the International Air Transport Association (IATA) mandate.
  • Favourite Indian Airport Award - 2010
    GHIAL adjudged as the ‘Favourite Indian Airport’ at the Condé Nast Traveller India Awards. The award was introduced by British Condé Nast Traveller magazine, together with Vogue.com and cntraveller.in to celebrate the launch of Condé Nast Traveller in India.

    The awards were given based on a survey among the readers in UK, who voted in the relevant categories to choose the best in Indian Tourism.
