Mission

Mr. G.B.S. Raju, is a commerce graduate and is the elder son of Mr. G.M. Rao.

He began his career as the Managing Director of GMR Energy Limited and was responsible for setting up the 220 MW barge-mounted power plant. During his subsequent stint as Chairman of Energy Sector during 2012-17, multiple power generation plants including transmission projects were implemented at various development phases, with an aggregate capacity of about 7500 MW.

Mr. Raju as Group CFO, successfully led the Group through GMR Infrastructure's maiden IPO in 2006 and certain largest QIPs & Private Equity investments in the years 2007, 2010 & 2011 amounting to approx. US$3 Billion in the Energy and Airport sectors of the Group.

He is presently the Chairman of the Airport sector and in addition leads GMR Varalakshmi Foundation, the CSR wing of GMR Group and spearheads Information Technology & Digitalization across the Group. With his far sightedness and entrepreneurial skills, Mr. Raju has been a key player in leading GMR's foray into the Airport sector and in developing the Hyderabad, Delhi, Istanbul and the Bhogapuram Greenfield Airport. The Group was guided by his strategic vision in developing international business and building projects including the Sabiha Gokcen International Airport, Istanbul and a power project in Jurong Island, Singapore.

Mr. Srinivas Bommidala hails from a business family with over nine decades of experience in tobacco exports. After graduating, he joined the family business in 1982 and diversified into aerated water bottling plants, while growing the tobacco business globally further.

Mr. Srinivas Bommidala, a Group Director, and son-in-law of Mr. G. M. Rao is one of the first directors of the Company. Over the years, since 1995, he has led the bidding, development and operation of all business verticals of the Group, including Airports, Energy, Urban Infra, and Sports.

Being a visionary leader, he has led many first-of-its-kind initiatives for the Group, including setting up one of the first PPP power projects in India in 1995, heading the transition of Delhi International Airport (the largest PPP airport project) as the first Managing Director in 2006, spearheading the Group's foray in the sports franchise as well as incubation of the IT & Digital transformation initiatives, across the organization. Under his leadership, the concept of Aerotropolis was conceived and took shape in Delhi and Hyderabad Aero cities. Since then, these have become global destinations for business, commerce and leisure. From 2012 to 2017, he served as the Chairman of Airport's business, during which period, GMR emerged among the top five airport developers in the world. He also delivered a substantial growth pipeline for the airport's sector, by winning projects in India and overseas viz., Goa (Mopa), Cebu (Philippines), Crete (Greece) and Medan (Indonesia).

He continues to lead the Group's International Airports business in South East Asia and Greece, and the transformation of the Energy portfolio.

Mr. Grandhi Kiran Kumar, a Graduate in Commerce, is the younger son of Mr. G.M. Rao and has been on the Company's Board since 2003.

He has been instrumental in winning several successful infrastructure bids for the Group under Public Private Partnership route with the Central and State Governments in sectors like Airports, Highways, etc. He led the GMR Group's successful bids for Hyderabad, Delhi, Istanbul, Male Airports as well as the construction efforts for completion of Terminal 3 of Delhi Airport in a record time.

As Chairman of Urban Infrastructure & Highways, he managed a portfolio of ~1,200 kms of Highways across 10 projects. He is also instrumental in GMR Group's foray into development of sports vertical through acquisition and management of the Delhi Daredevils IPL team.

Currently, he is overseeing Group Finance and Corporate Strategic Planning functions of the Group, in addition to leading the Sports business of the Group.

Mr. K. Ramakrishna Rao IAS, has been nominated by the Government of Telangana as Director on the Board of the Company.

Mr. Rao holds Graduate and Master Degrees in Engineering from IIT at Kanpur and Delhi respectively, and also a MBA in Investments.

Mr. Ramakrishna Rao Kudligi is from the 1991 batch of the Indian Administrative Service. He is at present the Special Chief Secretary to Government of Telangana, Finance Department. The prudent and sustainable management of the State Finances is his responsibility. He has presented all the budgets of the new State made so far and has mobilised resources required for the flagship schemes of the State. He has successfully introduced the comprehensive financial management system in the State leading to enhanced financial control and transparency.

Mr. Rao holds the charge of States Reorganization Department dealing with all matters related to the formation of the new State of Telangana and also the in-charge of the Director General of Centre for Good Governance and he is involved with a number of reform programs mainly based on IT in several States of the Country.

Mr. Rao has also held leadership positions in the fields of education, health care and was the Collector and District Magistrate of Adilabad and Guntur District.

Mr. C. Prasanna has been associated with the GMR Group for about 28 years with cross functional contribution. A Post Graduate in Management, Mr. Prasanna has over 37 years of rich and varied corporate experience. Before joining GHIAL, he was the Director (Finance) of GMR Industries Limited (GIDL) responsible for the Ferro Alloys, Breweries and Sugar divisions of GIDL. Prior to GMR Group, he was associated with the Nagarjuna Group for over 9 years.

Mr. Prasanna presently is the Executive Director of GMR Group and also he heads Corporate Affairs function wherein he is responsible for government interface for the Group's business verticals in Telangana & Andhra Pradesh, such as Energy and Urban Infrastructure besides Hyderabad Airport & Bhogapuram Airport.

Mr. H.J. Dora, former Director General of Police of Andhra Pradesh, is a Director on Board of the GHIAL.

He served the Police department in various districts till the year 1984. Thereafter, for over 5 years, he served the Police Intelligence. From early 1989 to late 1992, he headed the APSRTC as its Vice Chairman and Managing Director. He later served as Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad from April 93 to November 95 and as Director General & I G of Police, Andhra Pradesh, between 1996 to 2002.

He also worked as Director General, CISF, New Delhi and as Vigilance Commissioner, Central Vigilance Commission. He is the recipient of awards such as the "Police Medal of Gallantry", "Police Medal for Meritorious Service" and "President Police Medal for Distinguished Service".

Mr. Madhu Ramachandra Rao is a Chartered Accountant by profession. He was a partner with M/s. N. M. Raiji & Co., Chartered Accountants, for about 12 years during 1976 to 1988.

Thereafter, Mr. Madhu Rao was associated with M/s. Shangri- La Hotels & Resorts, Hong Kong for about 30 years from 1988 to 2017 in various capacities as Group Financial Controller, CFO, Executive Director and Vice Chairman. He has worked with three generations of Shangri-La Group in Hong Kong and he was also a member of the Executive Committee of the Board and also participated in the growth of the company and its business from 9 hotels in 1988 to 101 hotels. He was actively involved in all core aspects of business including, framing corporate and accounting policies & procedures, talent acquisition, investment analysis, marketing strategies, liaison with the auditors, maintain cordial investor relations, negotiating investment incentives with Government, Corporate bond and rights issues, etc.

Mr. Joyanta Chakraborty, The Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE) (2005) is presently holding the charge of Director in Ministry of Civil Aviation. As part of his responsibilities in Ministry of Civil Aviation, he is looking after Airports Authority of India (AAI), new Greenfield Airport development throughout the Country, Administration being the Head of the Department in the Ministry. He is responsible for liasioning with the AAI for all its airports as well as development of new Greenfield airports for liasioning with different Ministries and agencies of the Government of India.

He is an IRSEE Electrical Engineer of 2005 batch and an ex-IPS Officer 2011 batch of Odisha Cadre. He has done Bachelor of Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata.

He joined Indian Railway Service in the year 2006 as Assistant Divisional Electrical Engineer and received his probationary training from National Academy of Indian Railway (NAIR) at Vadodra and Indian Railway Institute of Electrical Engineering (IRIEEN). Thereafter, he served as Assistant Divisional Electrical Engineer / Traction Calling Stock at ERODE Loco Shed, Salem Division, Southern Railway and thereafter Electric Loco Production & Design at Chittranjan Locomotive Works.

Thereafter, he joined the Indian Police Service in 2011 and after training at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussorie & Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), Hyderabad, he was posted as Assistant Superintendent of Police at Ganjam District, Odisha. He left IPS in 2013 to join back Indian Railway Service where his lien was held and served in Chitranjan Locomotive Works and in Metro Railway, Kolkata in different capacities as Deputy Chief Electrical Engineer as Incharge of POH Workshop, Noapara, Electric Maintenance, Project & Construction where he looked after the passengers' amenities, protection and safety of Metro Railways' assets, Planning & Coordination with Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) and Project Implementation.

He has served as Director, Electrical Development in Railway Board's from March 2020 to December 2020 where he looked after two most prestigious Joint Venture Projects with largest FDI in Indian Railways for manufacturing of locomotives at Madhepura & Marhowara.

He was also instrumental in ensuring the Railway Board's Sanction for Provision of End of Train Telemetry Project in all freight trains in Indian Railways.

He has undergone training in Metro Technology at CRRC Dalian, China and Three Phase State of the Art Highest Horse Power Electric Locomotive Propulsion Technology at Alstom, Paris.

Mr. Antoine Crombez began his career as director for the French Senate Service dedicated to the Finance Committee. He joined Groupe ADP in February 2017 as project manager for ADP International, then as Senior Advisor for the Chairman and CEO. With effect from April 1, 2018 he has been appointed as Chief of Staff, attached to the Chairman and CEO, Groupe ADP.

Mr. Antoine Crombez, is currently the Executive Director and Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GMR Airports Limited and was previously Chief of Staff, attached to the Chairman and CEO of Groupe ADP. He graduated from the Ecole Normale Superieure and University Paris I - Pantheon-Sorbonne.

Mr. Dharmendra Bhojwani is a commerce Graduate and Associate Member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India.

Presently, he is an Executive Director (Finance) in Airports Authority of India. He has rich experience of more than 32 years and associated with AAI in various capacities. ln his present position, he is looking after Corporate Accounts, Market Borrowings, Capital Budget, Financial Concurrence, etc.

Mr. Subba Rao Amarthaluru is a commerce graduate and a Chartered Accountant. He has an established and proven track record in Finance Leadership and end to end expertise in various facets of finance function, built over 35 years of experience in industry segments such audit practice, manufacturing, financial services and infrastructure.

Among other positions, he has been the Managing Director-Finance-Sanamar Group, Executive Director - Finance & Strategy at CLP India during the period from May 2016 to April 2020, Group CFO in RPG Group during the period from August 2013 to May 2016 and Group CFO in GMR Group during his stint in GMR Group from December 1999 to August 2013.

Mr. Subba Rao holds matured strengths in organizational building, leadership development, harmonious external relationship management and effective communication both internally and on public forums. He has contributed to Chartered Accountancy professional development by taking responsibilities in some committees constituted by ICAI and also contributed to the Infra Industry development by working on some committees constituted by the Government of India.

Dr. M. Ramachandran, is a retired IAS officer of the 1972 batch from the Uttarakhand cadre. He has done B.A. in History, Economics (topped University) and M.A in Economics, from University of Kerala. He has also done M. Phil - Economic Planning, University of Glasgow, UK. He holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Economics from University of Lucknow for research thesis 'Alternative Approaches to Project Planning with Special Reference to India' - 2009.

He is having around 40 years of cross sector apex level policy making experience and field level implementation exposure in India, served both at the central and state government levels.

As Secretary to Government of India, Ministry of Urban Development for 4 years from 2006 to 2010, he spearheaded the country's urban sector policies, reforms and initiatives widely recognized as a landmark period in transforming India's cities.

Various assignments handled by him includes working as Advisor / Consultant to various State Governments, Urban local bodies, Universities, Societies / Foundations in the areas of Infrastructure, Urban development, Project management, Higher education; Member of the National Steering Committee for Urban Capacity Building; Member of Steering Committee/Working Group of the Planning Commission relating to India's 12th Five-year plan (Urban Development); Advisor to the World Bank. At state level he had held various senior positions including that of Chief Secretary of Government of Uttarakhand.

Mrs. Bijal Tushar Ajinkya has done L.L.M. in International Law from University of Mumbai. She is a partner in Khaitan & Co. in the Direct Tax, Private Client and Investment Funds Practice Groups in their Mumbai office. With over 20 years of experience, on the tax side, Mrs. Ajinkya primarily focuses on international tax, structuring of inbound and outbound investments, M&A tax negotiations, providing opinions on complex tax issues on international tax, etc.

On the tax litigation front, she has immense experience in providing advice on unique litigation strategies and has been a lead advisor in many successful and path breaking tax litigations in India. She had led many successful international tax litigations in India; on the India-Mauritius Tax Treaty- Azadi Bachao Andolan, Applicability of Minimum Alternate Tax for foreign Portfolio Investors, etc. She has also served as an expert witness on Indian tax matters in an international arbitration. She assists HNIs and their businesses on their succession planning needs.

Mr. K S Sreenivasa Raju is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer of 1999 batch. He is currently serving as the Principal Secretary to Government, Transport, Roads and Buildings Department Government of Telangana. Airports in Telangana is one of the Subjects dealt with besides, Transport, TSRTC, Roads including Railway Projects, National Highways, State and other Roads, Buildings and Housing.

He joined Regional Engineering College, Warangal and on transfer graduated from Sri Venkateshwara University College of Engineering. He holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from IIT, Kharagpur.

He has previously held various key posts such as Secretary to Government, Youth Advancement, Tourism, Culture & Sports Department. Serving as Joint Executive Officer, Tirumala, TTD for about 8 long years is highly regarded. He is known for his innovative and efficient administration skills.

During his tenure as Joint Executive Officer, Tirumala, TTD, he made a significant contribution to establishing Systems in TTD and was most successful in earning accolades from Common Pilgrims and VIPs. He can be called one of the very few in the country who are exposed to Crowd Management of the highest degree.

In the earlier stints, he made an indelible impression in developing Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Program, Medaram Jatara to name a few.

Alexis Riols graduated from Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS), Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, and Ecole Supérieure des Sciences Commerciales d'Angers (ESSCA). He began his career in 2010 with Egis, a French group active in infrastructure concessions and engineering. Alexis held several positions in overseas airport concessions, including Operational Leader of the Egis Airport network.

Alexis joined Group ADP in 2019, as Development Project Director on tenders and M&A opportunities and on the Group's international strategy. Alexis was a Director representing ADP on the Board of Directors of ATOL concession (Mauritius) and Zagreb Airport concession (Croatia) until 2022. Alexis has been appointed as the Deputy CEO of GMR Airports Limited in November 2023.

Mr. Pierre-Etienne Mathely graduated from Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris in 2011. In 2019, he joined Charles de Gaulle Airport division as Head of Financial Planning and Analysis. After first working experiences abroad, he joined Groupe ADP's Finance division in 2014 as Investment Projects Officer. Since November 2022, he is the Asset Management Director for GMR Airports at Groupe ADP.
