Airside Facilities

RGIA’s primary aircraft landing strip with 4260m length is the 2nd longest in India. It is a fully Code-F compliant runway that provides the landing platform for the largest of aircrafts in the world including Airbus A380. The Full parallel Taxiway is designed as a Code-E compatible parallel Runway, which functions as secondary/standby runway enabling Airport to remain operational 24x7 all throughout the year.

Airport Infrastructure such as the ATC Tower (Air Traffic Control), cargo terminal, MRO (Maintenance and Repair Overhaul), CFR Station (Crash, Fire and Rescue) and utilities are manned by experienced and diligent personnel ensuring a seamless process control.

Technology, Amenities and other luxuries

For the first time in India, the Airport Operational Database (AODB) technology is functional at RGIA. We are equipped with the latest IT systems, multiple contact boarding bridges, remote stands, common user terminal equipment (CUTE), check-in desks, self-check-in kiosks, immigration counters and a luxury transit hotel. Our integrated Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) has a modular design to effortlessly enable future expansion.

At the forecourt of PTB, The 'Airport Village' provides ample facilities for shopping and recreation, an area for ‘meet & greet', dedicated parking facility, Porter Service, free Wi–Fi, Multi-cuisine food court, Airport Lounges with night stay option, children’s play area / baby care, Medical center, Bank/ATM, Forex, transfer assistance and much more.

The Master Plan

The ultimate capacity of RGIA will be over 80 MMPA with Multiple runway configuration connected by cross taxiways, rapid exit taxiways, multiple integrated passenger terminals and other associated support infrastructure. This will also see development of additional cargo terminals, city side Commercial development, Multimodal linkages including Metro along with a huge expanse of landscaped greenery.

In FY2019, we had a footfall of over 21.4 million passengers making us one of the busiest airports in Asia. We are right on track with our master plan.
