24X7 Women Help Desk Launched at GMR Hyderabad International Airport

Hyderabad, November 09, 2020 : A 24X7 Women Help Desk at GMR led Hyderabad International Airport was inaugurated today by Sri V. C. Sajjanar, IPS, Cyberabad Police Commissioner in the presence of Mr. Pradeep Panicker, CEO, GHIAL, Mr. M K Singh, DIG, CISF and other key officials from the police department, CISF and airport. The Women Helpdesk is available at the arrivals level in the Eastern wing.

The Women Help Desk will be manned by a police personnel round the clock, which will be able to provide assistance to women in need of help or distress. The Hyderabad International Airport provides a highly safe and secure environment for everyone and works closely with stakeholders like the state police, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the Security Agency (Raxa) deployed to provide security and assistance to the passengers and the overall airport community. Post the resumption of operations, the airport has been handling over 25,000 passengers daily of which women passengers who pass through the airport comprise a substantial number. The commissioning of a dedicated women helpdesk at the airport, further strengthens the security and safety measures for women travelers, visitors and airport workforce.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Pradeep Panicker, CEO, GHIAL said, “The presence of a dedicated Women Help Desk at RGIA is indeed a welcome step and on behalf of our passengers, RGIA and the entire airport community, I thank the Commissioner of Police Cyberabad Shri V C Sajjanar, IPS and the Telangana State Police and Safety Health & Environment (SHE) Team to have come up with this novel initiative. GMR Hyderabad International Airport has been providing a highly safe and secure environment for passengers, visitors and airport workforce round the clock working closely with the State Police. The commissioning of this round the clock help desk will reaffirm faith and security for all women who pass through the airport as it is easily accessible and within reach if they are in need of any assistance.”
